Important notice
The following describes site management procedures with regards to the treatment of personal details of users consulting the site.
Information is conveyed in accordance with art. 10 of legislation of 31st December 1996, no. 675, and legislative decree 30th June 2003, no. 196 ‘Code for the protection of personal information’, to anyone who may interact with the web services of Selecta spa for the protection of personal information, accessible from the address http://www.selecta.it, corresponding to the initial page of the official site http://www.selecta.it. The information only relates to this site and does not concern any other websites that users may consult via links.
The information also arises from Recommendation no. 2/2001 which the European authorities for the protection of personal information, together with the Group created by art. 29 of directive no. 95/46/CE adopted on 17th May 2001, to identify minimum requirements for the collection of personal information on the Internet, and in particular, the procedures, timescales and nature of information which data controllers must provide for users when they connect to a web page, such as the aims of the connection.
The Data Controller: following consultation of this site, information relating to identifiable persons may be handled. The ‘Data Controller’ is Select spa, via Postumia, 9, Quinto Vicentino (VI), Italy.
Data handling location: data handling connected to Web services on this site is carried out on the premises at Via Postumia, 9 - 36050 - Quinto Vicentino (VI) – Italy, and is only dealt with by personnel in the Data Management Office, or by occasional maintenance personnel. No data from the Web service is communicated or divulged to other parties. Personal information provided by users who forward mailing requests for information material is only used to perform the service requested, and is only communicated to third parties where it is necessary for this purpose.
Type of data handled: navigation data. The IT systems and software procedures used for the correct functioning of this website may obtain some personal information during normal operation, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of Internet communication and protocols. This regards information which is not collected to be associated to particular individuals, but which by its very nature could allow identification of users, through processing and associations with data held by third parties.
This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of users’ computers which connect to the site, URI addresses of resources requested, time of request, method used to submit the request to the server, return file dimensions, numerical code showing data response status from the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters relating to the operating system and the user’s IT environment. This data is only used to collect anonymous statistical information on site use, in order to check correct operation, and is deleted immediately after processing. The data could be used for ascertaining responsibility in the case of IT contraventions that could damage the site. With the exception of this possibility, data on Web contacts does not exist for more than seven days.
Information provided voluntarily by the user: the voluntary, explicit, transmission of electronic mail to the addresses indicated on this site involves the subsequent attainment of the sender’s address, which is necessary to respond to requests, in addition to other possible personal information inserted in the message. Specific summary information will be gradually outlined or displayed on site pages arranged for particular service requests.
Cookies: no personal user information is knowingly acquired by the site. Cookies are not used for the transmission of personal information, nor are persistent cookies of any type used, or systems for tracing users. The use of session cookies (which are not stored permanently on the user’s computer, and are erased when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of identification sessions (constituting random figures generated by the server), which are necessary to allow secure, efficient site navigation.
The session cookies used in this site avoid other IT techniques which could jeopardise confidentiality during user navigation, and do not allow the acquisition of identifiable personal user information.
Option of providing information: apart from that specified for navigation data, the user is free to send personal information on request forms to privacy@selecta.it, or may contact us by other means, in order to request information material or other communication. A lack of personal information could make it impossible to meet certain requests. It should be remembered that in some cases the authorities may request news and information, in accordance with art. 32, clause 1, legislation no. 675/1996 (Art.157, legislative decree of 30th June 2003 no. 196 ‘Code for the protection of personal information’), for the purpose of checking the treatment of personal information. In such cases compliance is mandatory otherwise an administrative sanction may be applied.
Data treatment procedures: personal information is treated with automatic tools for the time period strictly necessary to achieve the aims for which the information was taken. Specific security measures are taken to prevent the loss of data, illegal or incorrect use, and unauthorised access.
Rights of persons involved: people who are the subject of personal information have the right at any time to obtain confirmation of its existence, to know its content and origin, verify its correctness, request additions or updates, or request its correction (art. 13 legislation no. 675/1996 - Art.7, legislative decree 30th June 2003 no. 196 ‘Code for the protection of personal information’).
In accordance with the same article, it is also possible to request the deletion, modification to an anonymous format, or blocking of data handled which contravenes legislation, in addition to opposing the treatment of such data for legitimate reasons.
